The life of a hunter. ('Open')

The day was as normal as any other, all of Koga's pack were doing their normal routines of laying around and relaxing. Of course, the pack leader was no where to be found on this day for he was out near his cave hunting for food. Ginta and Hakkaku were sitting on a rock and were obviously tired, no one could keep up with Koga. In the distance was a noise heard and both wolf demons responded to it. Ginta gasped and Hakkaku blinked as Koga walked up with a wild boar in hand. Smiles came over their faces seeing their leader bring in the meat. "Lets go back.", Koga spoke as he walked by Ginta and Hakkaku who nodded and walked back to their cave normally.

On her own for days once again. Her weapon straddling her shoulders and swayed with each movement of the hand thrown over it to keep it there. More wolves up ahead, this must have been their territory. Oh well, just another wolf passing through. In the back of her mind she wondered what her sister would be doing right now, probably at home whining about another chipped claw from working in the rough earth. What a weakling. Kagami heaved a sigh and blew some black hair out of her face, continuing her leisurely stroll through the rocky pass.

Ginta stopped or rather was the first to stop as he looked around catching a scent, Hakkaku blinked now noticing that Ginta had stopped and looked back at him. "Hey, is there something wrong?", Koga stopped with the boar over his shoulder and he looked back with his eyebrow raised. "Hurry up you guys! We have a whole pack to feed.", Ginta jumped and he ran over while pointing behind himself. Hakkaku couldn't help but look to Koga in question, the leader of the wolf demon tribe blinked and looked to where Ginta was pointing and right then did he saw a women. "What about her?", Ginta blinked and looked back. "Should we uh do something to her?", Hakkaku looked between them and then Koga spoke. "Why should we? She ain't doing nothing to us."

Seemed the other wolves had come to notice her. They paused in their journey to return home with a dead boar. He must be the pack leader. Kagami's eyes drifted to Koga as she kept walking. Strong, but she cared nothing about it. Her eyes shut once more and she kept walking, naginata swaying to and fro with each step as the cold metal pressed against her shoulders. Though, that boar looked good and she was peckish.

Ginta couldn't help but look to Hakkaku who looked back in question, Koga noticed their stares to eachother and he narrowed his eyes some. "Why do you want me to beat up someone who isn't doing anything? Come on, we are wasting daylight.", Koga walked onward leaving both Ginta and Hakkaku behind which then they responded to running after him. The wolf demon tribe leader did catch the woman's eyes and that was how he could tell that she had no interest in them which meant that she wasn't a threat. Koga had better things to do then to start something with a stranger, it was normal of course for Ginta and Hakkaku to be afraid of strangers. He guessed the last leader attacked strangers, but he wasn't the same leader for he had different ways.

Something watched them. Diligently. Eye from the blue body above them. A crow of some sorts. It wanted the boar the leader held over his shoulder. Talons drawn it dove toward the three of them, and Kagami reacted. The dust from the missed attack into the mountain blurred her vision for a brief moment, but the crow was determined. Squawking and scratching the ground it approached the three swiftly, as did Kagami. Naginata removed from her shoulders she threw it, the blade sinking into the skin between the feathers of it's right wing.
"If you want a fight you should have come to me pigeon."
She mocked the demon, swiping her thumb across her nose in a single motion.

Ginta and Hakkaku were the first to react when they saw the demon come close, both of them moved out of the way while Koga jumped away from the first attack. The wolf demon tribe leader was fast and he was respected for it, Ginta couldn't help but watch the woman attack the demon and Hakkaku ran toward Koga as if checking up on him. Koga frowned with a obvious look of being upset, handing the dead boar to Hakkaku did he dash toward the demon. Noticing the woman's weapon within the demon did he jump up and grab the demons legs, he brought it down and gave it a powerful punch ending its life. Ginta and Hakkaku were happy and high fived their satisfaction. Koga standing over the demon looked to the lady and backed away from the demon. "Thanks for helping us out.", Koga had his hands on his side as he looked down at the demon.

The leader protected his kin, ending the demon in swift motions. He was fast and strong, perhaps Kagami was wrong about this one? As he thanked her she approached and ripped her weapon from the demon, replacing it against her shoulders.
"You are welcome, though I must say I am impressed you were able to bring the demon down as swiftly as you did."

Koga blinked looking to her and he smirked faintly with his eyes closed. "No surprise needed. A wolf has to do what he does to ensure his packs lives.", Ginta ran over with a smile to Koga and Hakkaku looked to the lady while holding the boar in one hand. Both of them were fine, and they were both pleased with their leader's skill. Koga couldn't help but smirk to both and then looking to the lady did he say. "Though I killed it, your help was gratefully accepted. It ain't much, do you want to tag along and share the feast with us?", Ginta smiled and Hakkaku handed Koga the boar.

The young wolf offered for her to come and join them for food. A grin spread across her face as she leaned forward and her usual mocking tone returned.
"I say what took you so long to ask?"
She then stood back up and cleared her throat, still smiling.
"A kind gesture indeed, I thank you."

Koga smirked again and he walked on now with the boar slung over his shoulder, he looked back at the three of them. "Well, lets go.", as he began walking did Ginta follow willingly as did Hakkaku with his arms behind his head. The walk wasn't that bad, before to long did they make it to his cave along with the waterfall which stood out some. Koga entered first into the opening with Ginta and Hakkaku right behind him. Inside were different wolf demons and wolves who were laying around and looking quite content. Koga handed Ginta the boar and as he took it did he go to prepare it. Everyone within the tribe looked well, and the leader stood there as if checking up on everyone.

Kagami gladly followed behind her fellow wolves. An impressive cave soon was presented before her, though her face showed no signs of changing from it's stoic position she was impressed by their home. The presence of a female would more then likely seem strange, as this place stank of male wolves. Oh well, don't look a gift horse in the mouth after all. Food was food.

Koga blinked and noticed that she came in and he wondered what she thought of their home, he simply stood there now looking ahead for a second. After a moment did Ginta place the meat over the flame, many wolf demons were enjoying themselves and were saying what half they would split and so on and so forth. Koga approached the roasting boar and he pointed to the belly and looked to Ginta. "Save that for the lady.", after he said this did Ginta nod. Hakkaku was sitting on a rock next to Ginta and obviously said something which made Ginta lightly laugh. Koga began walking outside, and as he made it outside did he lean against the wall while thinking. Not to long did Ginta give out shares of the boar and approaching the lady did he hand her the share that Koga wanted her to get. "Hope you like roast boar?", Hakkaku was enjoying his share and couldn't help but watch the wolves stare at everyone. Everyone of course felt bad for the wolves and gave them small portions.

The place was homey, it was what these wolves deemed home so it suited Kagami. It was in the mountains what more could she ask for? Kagami took her place on the cave floor a few meters from the entrance, setting her weapon aside and watching as Koga first ordered the belly of the best be saved for her, then left to watch the outside world. How charming, in the most sarcastic sense. As her share was brought to her she nodded thanks and sank her teeth right into the meat. Her ravenous appetite often lead to poor table manners, but they were wolves those very rarely had a place with them.

Everyone wasn't to surprise to see another person within their cave, she came with Koga and so no one worried. Ginta nodded to her with a smile and walked back over to Hakkaku who was watching the wolves go about their business for food. As a leader of a pack, Koga would eat last or rather come to eat later. Most wolf packs allowed the leader to take first bite, however since their was so many members within the pack it was only best to feed everyone first. Koga remained standing outside for a while, when the sun began to lower did he enter back inside. Ginta noticed Koga and waved him over with a good slab of meat ready for him. It was obvious he saved a good enough portion for Koga, Hakkaku was laying back on a fur mat on the ground. Koga looked to the lady and smirked with his eyes closed. It was always good to provide for others for a change.

The drippings from her portion that hid around the skin of her fingers were soon sought out and captured by her tongue. Seemed Koga would eat last, a noble gesture indeed. As the hours passed he came in as the sun was sinking and took his share.
"You have been kind enough to let me share in your food, yet you have deprived me of knowing who you are."
Kagami said, adjusting to leaned herself against the cave wall to her left.

Koga blinked hearing her words, he took up his portion and he lightly smirked. "Who I am? My name is Koga.", as he said this did he take a bite of meat with his features looking to everyone who were happy and content. Ginta couldn't help but lightly smile to those who were already turning in. Koga looked back to the lady and he said. "Like I said, wolves take care of their own.", Koga looked to everyone like Ginta and he scoffed with a smirk. Full wolf demons meant lazy ones if they were already going onto bed.

Koga. A fitting name for a wolf pack leader. He seemed confident, yet cocky, Kagami was the same. As he introduced himself, she motioned to her chest to indicate herself.
"Kagami."
Returning the gesture of introducing herself, she looked around at the others. Lazy bunch of men, it was hardly even close to night.

Koga heard her name and he made a interested look for a moment and he nodded to her with a smirk. "Well nice to meet you, Kagami. You are allowed to stay here for the night. No one will bother you.", Koga placed another peice of meat into his mouth as he walked on toward a black fur in the end of the cave. Ginta noticed that Hakkaku was asleep and he could not help but feel tired by watching him. Almost everyone within the cave was turning in, besides Koga and Kagami. The wolves however were still up and they all laid near Koga who was sitting on his fur with his head looking to the ceiling in thought. Before to long, all the animals will be moving away from the cave which meant further journey's out to get food.

"Thank you Koga."
Was all she replied with when he said she was welcome to stay for the night. Among her own kin, and many of them, it made Kagami feel very relaxed. Though she would not be turning in just yet. The blood of the crow still stained her precious weapon, it needed to be removed. The fabric of her sleeve slid across the cool metal, removing the blood and showing a mirror reflection again.

Koga blinked and looked ahead toward the wolves and he couldn't help but stand up and walk to one of the wolves, making sure not to hurt it did he softly pick him up. A look of surprise came over his face at how heavy this one wolf weighed. "Is it just me or you gained another pound? I know I said to put you on a diet. You fat hounds, no wonder you won't go outside any more.", Koga softly tossed him to the side and he sighed with his eyes narrowed.

Kagami's eyes lifted as Koga complained about how his wolves were fat and lazy. With a smirk she stood up, not moving from her position near the cave front.
"Seems your wolves need to be thoroughly run no?"
She asked, putting her weapon back across her shoulders.

Koga blinked and he nodded with his eyes closed and his hands on his sides. "Looks like it.", softly he nudged a wolf with his foot making it move and he lightly chuckled. Sometimes he wondered why his wolves wanted to stay inside the cave, and it probably was cause it was cooler inside than outside. Koga would have to make them run sometime early tomorrow, perhaps take them on his next hunt and let Ginta and Hakkaku rest for a while. Koga walked away from the end of the cave, some of the wolves were following him.

Kagami turned to her side, gazing out at the rising moon. Seemed it was waning, the first night would be upon them soon enough.
"The night is lovely, I find it hard to rest when the moon rises. Perhaps I am more of a nocturnal creature then I thought?"
Kagami asked more to herself then Koga in particular.

Koga stood there with his head looking up to the ceiling and in a way he heard what Kagami had said, though was still debating if it was true or not. The only reason why he would not sleep was to guard his pack from danger, some nights were hard but they entirely worth it to make sure his pack was safe. "We all have our instincts.", Koga said this before glancing to Kagami silently. Everyone within the pack were sleeping well and it was safe to assume that they would not wake up to anything.
